What is the Miracle League?
The Miracle League removes the barriers that keep children and adults with mental and physical disabilities off the baseball field and lets them experience the joy of baseball. Miracle League teams play on a custom-designed turf that accommodates wheelchairs and other assistive devices while helping to prevent injuries. But it’s more than playing a game. The Miracle League is about making new friends, building self-esteem and being treated just like other athletes. To help athletes, the Miracle League uses a “buddy” system- pairing each player with an able-bodied peer. The result is a bond that cannot be described. The Miracle League serves children and adults who suffer from any physical or mental disabilities which cause them to be excluded, whether intentionally or not, from conventional baseball leagues.
Our league is for ages 5 to 99. We offer a 15 and under league, and a 16 and up league. Age division placement is up to the discretion of parents and/or caregivers and the Miracle League of Albertville staff to ensure that everyone is playing in the division most suitable for them.
We offer a spring (April & May) and fall (September & October) season. Registration dates will be posted on our Facebook page- The Miracle League of Albertville. Athletes who sign up after the registration deadline will be allowed to play as long as we have room but will not receive a jersey and a cap.
