An Amphitheater Fitting for Albertville, Alabama’s Music Tradition

Sand Mountain Amphitheater has, again, been designed to accommodate local shows and performances to the highest level national acts. Albertville, AL is home to the established “Main Street Music Festival”, a top-notch two-day event that has hosted headliners such as: Clay Walker, Bret Michaels, Riley Green, Blackberry Smoke, Sara Evans, 38 Special, Sister Hazel, the Marshall Tucker Band, Diamond Rio, Tyler Farr, and more, over its 10-year history. Prior to MSMF, Albertville hosted “Freedom Festival”, each July, with a number of national recording artists performing to include, Martina McBride and Toby Keith. Albertville High School is also the proud home of the “Albertville Aggie Marching Band”, which marches over 300 student members year in and year out.

Lead by Director Chris Lindley, who generously contributed to the amphitheater planning process, the Aggie Band has performed numerous times in Pasadena, CA at the Tournament of Roses Parade (Rose Bowl), multiple times being the only high school marching band in the entire southeast chosen for an invitation to perform. The Aggie Band has also marched, several times, in Macy’s Day Parades in New York, New York.  The amphitheater has three different layouts that can allow for 4,500 individuals comfortably spread across the lawn on blankets, as well as 8,000+ standing and seating, across the entire venue. The pit, boxes, and concession areas have been intentionally designed to allow for ADA compliance, providing access for all in our communities, and a playground area inside the amphitheater fence allowing for children who aren’t focused on “the show” to still be entertained. No matter the size performance, crowd, or style of music, this venue will provide the very best listening and entertainment base our region can imagine.

The 8,000 person amphitheater has the ability to host everything from national acts to local performances from the school band and choirs. Albertville is famous across the region for its hosting of the Main Street Music Festival and this additional venue just further reinforces that Albertville is a top music town in the South.
